I wonder why there are so many Mac but only 2 Win and no Linux scores at all in the top 25.
If you think about the typical marketshare blahblah you should think it would be vice versa, i. e. 2 Mac scores, 2 Linux scores and the rest Win scores.

Is the game less known in the Win world or is the Mac version easier or what is the reason for this surprising high Mac usage in the scores?

It's difficult to find sites like VersionTracker and MacUpdate for the Windows world. Everyone in the Windows world wants money, and since DCSquares is currently freeware, it's not worth paying hundreds of dollars to Tucows and Download.com to get a listing.

If you come across any freeware Windows sites that don't require money for a listing, feel free to let me know and I'll try to promote DCSquares there. Most of the existing Windows players are from the Dreamcast community, and I haven't let them know a new version is out yet, because I still have a bit more to finish up on the Dreamcast build before it's released.

But does anyone actually use it? :-P I suppose I'll submit a listing in the Windows section too. It would be easier if VT let you pick both sections for a listing instead of having to do it twice..

Aren't mice the same for Windows and Macs?

I have never used a Mac but didn't USB originate on Macs?

As most PC mice are USB I assume same can be said for Macs.

the mice itself are the same (except the Apple mouse which is far superior) but the mouse handling in the OS is different, that´s another reason why graphic artists use macs.

Any USB mouse that works on a PC works on a Mac. Apple has always shipped 1 button mouse which just feel better and work better than all other mice though :)
    See here: Mouse

Is there statistics about optical mice/ mecanical mice? :?:

Is DCSquares becoming the new standard test app for mice? When I was young, the killer app was Lemmings :D

Well chances are if it was submitted by a Mac it was using the Apple mouse. I highly dought anyone in their right mind is still using one of those hockey puck mice

If it was submitted with Windows or linux it was probably something else (unless its linux on PPC)

Many Mac users hate the one button mouse though, so they use some usb mice from Logitech, M$ or whatever.

Haha.. yeah, Windows users seem to get higher scores. I think it has to do with how the mouse moves on Windows. Or they have lots of practice with moving their mouse from trying to close all those spyware popups

Just to weigh in on the mouse debate  I use Kensington's Wireless Desktop for Mac with my powerbook. It's a wireless keyboard + a wireless optical 3 button mouse with scroll wheel. The keyboard has a scroll wheel, too, which is kind of cool. It's also got stop/play/next/prev/ff/rw buttons for iTunes, and calculator, email, WWW, and 2 customizable buttons for launching programs (I only really use the calculator button 'cause it saves some room in my dock). The only odd thing is that the keyboard doesn't have any lights for caps lock, so I can't tell if it's on or not without typing.
