    On december 4th, 2004, the server that hosts www.c99.org, dcsquares.c99.org, and forums.c99.org was hacked. A rootkit was installed, as well as an IRC flooding bot named "mirk". This resulted in saturating the bandwidth and the processor of the server, preventing access to many of the C99.ORG sites.

    I've done my best to reverse the damage to the server and restore the services. All user accounts have had their passwords disabled. All users of www.c99.org will need to contact me to have their accounts reset. Users of sigbox and email are unaffected.

    We apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused.
