Hey Sam and/or Community,
Got a few questions:
1. Have you got any plans to put the 'Mobile Scrobbler' on the iTunes App store thats coming soon? (you can sell them for free like you do now, or you can make a buck or two... heaps of people would want it!)
I was wondering this since the advent of the iPhone3G (wondering if it can be jail-broken due to the new stricter rules), and a cheaper iPod Touch update (to obtain the new iPhone3G software), that you would be able to upload 'MobileScrobbler' as a downloadable app from the upcoming Apps store in iTunes?
I only jailbroke my iPod Touch just to install your program, which is absolutely wonderful! And with the new IPhone3G (finally one for Australia!) and the uncertainty that we can jailbreak them, I was thinking of un-jailbreaking my iPod to get the new features of the new iPhone, but of course, would have to sacrifice 'MobileScrobbler' if i did un-jailbreak it.2. second question... at what percentage of the song does the mobilescrobbler app upload to the last.fm database? i know with my last.fm program on my macbook, i can adjust the scrobbling from 50%...80%...100%... of the song... do i have to listen to it all the way through to get it scrobbled... which was my prevailing opinion with your app.. any hopes of being able adjust the percentage of song duration to scrobble?
Well, thanks and kudos to you...
from the land of oz.

#1 I can't talk about for another few weeks.
#2 a song is scrobbled after 50% or 30 seconds, whichever is longer, as per the AudioScrobbler specifications.

MobileScrobbler cannnot work with the official SDK. Apple has disallowed third-party background applications. If MobileScrobbler ever shows up at the AppStore, it will be as a seriously crippled version.

I'm very keen on news on this from myself :-)
My iPod Touch without MobileScrobbler is a show stopper, so no 2.0 for me.

Last.fm and I are pleased to announce we are bringing MobileScrobbler to the iTunes App Store. Due to restrictions in the SDK it can't scrobbler your iPod application (yet), you'll have to use the Last.fm desktop software for that. However, we've got an awesome radio application. Check out the demo here: http://digg.com/apple/Last_fm_iPhone_App_Preview

1. ahh sam, that's good news... however, due to that SDK restriction (hence, no scrobbling)... I don't think i'll migrate to 2.0 yet. i love the live-scrobbling. do you think the restriction is going to get lifted anytime soon?
2. also, does anyone know if the app iScrobbler can scrobble from the iPod Touch?! My "Update Ipod" option in the menu bar is always greyed-out and i never remember it to actually scrobble when my ipod is USB linked to my mac... is this because i have mobilescrobbler installed in the iTouch already?!

Too bad :( The Living scrobbling was always the main reason for me to jailbreak my ipod.
I would stick with software 1.1.4 but 2.0 has WPA-Enterprise (Wlan at my University). So for me it is wlan or scrobbler :/
I am still hoping that with the announced jailbreak http://blog.iphone-dev.org/post/41730121/living-in-sweet-harmony a MobileScrobbler version with Live Scrobbling will work.

Same here - mobile scrobbling was the only reason I jailbroke mine.
I'd like the update (could really use the Exchange support on the office) but I don't want to lose the mobile scrobbling bit.
I notice though the quote above:
Due to restrictions in the SDK it can't scrobbler your iPod application (yet) ... so I live in hope! -

Yeaah, I just got 2.0 today...
My last revision was 1.1.2 (i didn't bother updating it for ages), but yeah, I got it since I heard it was much faster and responsive, App store, has VPN client for uni network, and push email..
However I could not find MobileScrobbler in the AppStore?! (in the Australian one at least)... is it not up there yet?
Also, I realise it has no scrobbling capabilities which is sad, but is there an app where I can get on my mac to scrobble any of the music I listen to on the iPod Touch (ie. not live scrobbling)?! All I see on the net are overly complicated methods or apps that aren't very reliable. I used iScrobbler (doesn't work with iTouch, it does if you do a stupid fancy method of syncing another type of iPod, etc..errggh) and have Last.fm installed (the big chunky app that is very unreliable for scrobbling from iTouch).
Thanks in advance for all your help!

Apple hasn't posted it to the store yet, we're still waiting. The official Last.fm desktop software has full support for scrobbling iPhone and iPod Touch.

Hello, will you still be releasing MobileScrobbler on Cydia/Installer.app for firmware 2.0 or is it just going to be this Last.fm app now?
Any idea of the price yet? (if you can say)Love the application, btw. It seriously is my favourite app on the iPod. Thank you for it.

Ahh I don't liked this.
AppStore sucks, no Last.fm here in Brazil and as I can see the Last.fm program is now useless since I cannot scrobble on-the-fly.
I'm not liking the 2.0 Firmware, considering to back to 1.1.4. MobileScrobbler WAS the program that convinced me to buy an iPhone.
PS: Sorry my bad english =/
